Linda - I hope you get some answers. I know how it feels to put your Mom in a nursing home. Tough time but she will have good care.

Jan - Susan's barge was built to hold all of us. Jump right in, I'll save you a seat, right next to me.

George - Bummer about the book.

The meeting with the new bariatrics coordinator was a relief and she is super. She has no plans to take over the support groups but many plans to work as liaison to provide additional opportunities for education. I walked away feeling like I was on cloud 9.

Am I the only one who no longer drinks protein  shakes?

Annie just pressed a few keys and the words are apperaing all over the screen. Let's see if this will post. I don't drink protein shakes.  Once in a while I will make a smoothie with bananas, but haven't done that in months.  Instead of protein shakes early in the WLS timeframe, I drank Adkins Advantage shakes for my protein.  Once I started on food, the doc said I did not have to drink them any more due to the amount of protein I take in daily.

Every afternoon I have a two egg and cheese omelet.  I also bring about 8-12 oz of cheeze with me to work every day.  Plus the meat I eat daily.  For instance, today it was a chicken quesadilla with spinish and cheese in it.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Thanks George. I did shakes in the beginning too. The Magic Bullet sits and gathers dust.

Annette,
I dont do the shakes either. My doctor never had us do them. He wants all our protien to come form our food.
I had a wonderful visit with Phyllis and Jon. I met them at the Holiday Inn that is near our house after I got off work. We visited then waited for Carl to show up and we went to show them around Sarasota and went to Dinner at Bonefish Grill. It was a lot of fun. Then we walked around downtown Sarasota. It was so cold I thought it was going to let loose a snow storm!!!!!
The weatherman says that the whole state of Florida in in a cold snap....Didnt get above 48 yesterday.
Phyllis and I were talking about a gettogether for October of this year in Frankenmuth. We are calling it Frankenmuth Revisited. So watch for posts!!!!!
Well I need to go and get ready for work and drink a cuppa of Java to get the old bones in motion.

Hi Annette:
I've never been one to drink the protein shakes -- our dietician really doesn't want us to.....I find I can get plenty of good  protein thru the foods I eat.

I still use the supplemented protein shakes. I drink about 4 per day.
